Isn't the Anglican Communion as we know it to be a global federation only a bit over 100 years old, comprised of churches planted by missionaries in the lands of the former British Empire? I find that many of us think we should be united in a similar polity to the Roman Catholic Church, but this is precisely why an "Anglican Church" broke away from the excesses of Rome. Many disgruntled Anglicans impatiently yearn for a stern authority like the Pope and Magisterium (probably because a lot of propaganda is released into Google, Yahoo, and VirtueOnline News by the minute for them to despair over)--but they will stop when they themselves find their own ideologies on the business end of these ecclesiasticians'scrutiny.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
